For those of you who value the impact of true stories told well, consider attending the upcoming performance of A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer at Central Penn College. This groundbreaking collection edited by Ensler and Mollie Doyle features pieces from Until the Violence Stops, the international festival that brings the issue of violence against women and girls to the forefront of our consciousness. Diverse voices in this performance rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of brutality, neglect, a punch, or a put-down.
These writings are inspired, funny, angry, heartfelt, tragic, and beautiful, but above all, together they create a true and profound portrait of this issue’s effect on every one of us. The ensemble includes female AND male actors comprised of Central Penn College students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local actors.
All proceeds from ticket sales go to support the work of Randi’s House of Angels.
